Saturday 10th December

10.30am – 6.00pm

St Bartholomews Church, Ann Street, Brighton, BN1 4GP

MADE BRIGHTON has been running for over a decade, bringing some of the best makers in the country to the Brighton Dome – Corn Exchange. Due to renovation and development plans, we won’t be able to use the Corn Exchange for a while.

MADE BRIGHTON at St BARTHOLOMEW’S is a new show that aims to do something a little different. Whilst still showing the best makers in the country, the St Bartholomew’s fair will be a down to earth ‘Village Hall’ one day, table-top selling event.

Our venue is St Bartholomew’s Church, a stunning late Victorian Byzantine inspired church. Known to some as the Noah’s Ark Church, because of the local legend that it was built to the same dimensions as the Ark, the Church is an awe-inspiring space. It’s the tallest parish church in Europe.

We’ll be using the main body of the church to show sixty-four makers, exhibiting a wide variety of original work; jewellery, knitwear, ceramics, wood, print, silversmithing, textiles, clothes, toys and more.

Atelier 51 is the new home for Tutton and Young. The building is a converted Victorian warehouse  directly opposite St Bartholomew’s Church. We have created four studios housing  – Silvia K Ceramics, Elaine Bolt, Rhoda K Baker and Sarah Young.

In November this year we are opening a shop at Atelier51 showing the work of the resident artists, by makers from the MADE shows and by other designer / makers.

If you visit the show at St Bartholomew’s, we hope you’ll drop in. As well as the shop, all four studios will be open to the public that day too.

Becky Paton Mosaic Portraits

Apart from having a lot of smaller mosaic pieces at MADE BRIGHTON, Becky Paton will also be exhibiting her ‘Warrior Women’ series of mosaic portraits. To date she has three completed, with Mary Anning, the amazing fossil woman from Lyme Regis in the 1800’s being the next one on her list. The portraits are 90 cm in… Read more »
