MADE BRIGHTON at St BARTHOLOMEW’S is returning in November 2021 after an enforced break in 2020 to the stunning St Bartholomew’s Church.
This show is a little different – whilst still showing the best makers in the country, the St Bartholomew’s fair is a down to earth ‘Village Hall’ two day, table-top selling event.
MADE BRIGHTON should return to the Brighton Dome – Corn Exchange in 2022 when extensive renovations to the building are finally completed (renovations are currently overrunning by some considerable time but we should know when they are scheduled to complete soon)
Our venue is St Bartholomew’s Church, a stunning late Victorian Byzantine inspired church. Known to some as the Noah’s Ark Church, because of the local legend that it was built to the same dimensions as the Ark.
It is the tallest parish church in Europe and as such the Church is a truly awe-inspiring space .
We’ll be using the main body of the church to show sixty makers, exhibiting a wide variety of original work; jewellery, knitwear, ceramics, wood, print, silversmithing, textiles, clothes, toys and more.
200 metres of festoon lights illuminate the nave, as well as exhibitors’ lights make for a magical setting for our Christmas show.
ATELIER BESIDE THE SEA
Atelier 51 has now moved from opposite St Barts Church and is now known as ATELIER BESIDE THE SEA. The new venue spans 3 large newly renovated arches right in the middle of Brighton Beach and comprises a shop, 2 gallery spaces and a classroom. We have a full program of talks, classes, events, films, workshops and exhibitions each week. Visit our website for whats on.
It’s well worth the walk down to the seafront – our Christmas exhibition this year is ‘Fairy Tale’ and the shop will be full of beautiful things for xmas.
Lovely show, great location, brilliantly central, gorgeous building, gorgeous people and gorgeous work
