  MADE BRIGHTON at ST BARTHOLOMEW’S

Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November

10.30am – 5.30pm

St Bartholomew’s Church, Ann Street, Brighton, BN1 4GP

THE FAIR

MADE BRIGHTON at St BARTHOLOMEW’S is back for a forth year in the stunning St Bartholomew’s Church. This show is a little different – whilst still showing the best makers in the country, the St Bartholomew’s fair will be a down to earth ‘Village Hall’ one day, table-top selling event.

MADE BRIGHTON should return to the Brighton Dome – Corn Exchange when extensive renovations to the building are completed (renovations are currently overrunning by some considerable time but we should know when they are scheduled to complete soon)

ST BARTHOLOMEW’S

Our venue is St Bartholomew’s Church, a stunning late Victorian Byzantine inspired church. Known to some as the Noah’s Ark Church, because of the local legend that it was built to the same dimensions as the Ark.

It is the tallest parish church in Europe and as such the Church is a truly awe-inspiring space .

We’ll be using the main body of the church to show sixty makers, exhibiting a wide variety of original work; jewellery, knitwear, ceramics, wood, print, silversmithing, textiles, clothes, toys and more.

200 metres of festoon lights illuminating the nave as well as exhibitors’ lights the building is magical setting for our Christmas show.

ATELIER 51

Atelier 51 is the home of Tutton and Young. The building is a converted Victorian warehouse directly opposite the front door to St Bartholomew’s Church. We have four studios housing Silvia K Ceramics, Elaine Bolt, Rhoda K Baker and Sarah Young.

At Christmas 2016 we opened a shop Atelier51 showing and selling work by our resident artists and also by a selection of other contemporary designer / makers.

If you visit the show at St Bartholomew’s, please do drop by and see what we do.

Alexa Simone’s Velvet Cushions

Having been involved with a number of interior design projects, Alexa Simone found a distinct shortage of really funky yet grungy looking cushions that would look cool in an urban home. She decided to design her own! Alexa is bringing her brand new digitally designed range of cool urban velvet cushions to MADE BRIGHTON.

New Work by Penny Warren

Penny Warren has been working on a new range using textured wallpaper printed onto aluminium and milled onto silver, then combined. The collection is called the ‘Alyssa’ as that’s the name of the wallpaper Penny is using! The range will be launched at MADE BRIGHTON

Hikaru Noguchi – Darning Workshops

Knitwear designer, author and darning ‘Guru’ will be leading small group workshops at MADE BRIGHTON. Over 2 hours she will guide you through the basic stitches and skills to repair, renew and embellish damaged and tired clothes. Book here
