Website:
Lyndsay is a contemporary jeweller based in Edinburgh, whose unique handmade collection is inspired by the spontaneous compositions of debris that are washed up along the beaches of the Scottish Coast. Techniques such as enamelling, etching and patination inform a subtle, muted colour palette that focuses on texture and tone, creating graphic pieces that are slightly different each time.
GALLERY OF WORK
- Copper Inlay Earrings : Handmade sterling silver hollow form stud earrings, with copper wire inlaid to create a unique pattern.
-
Enamel Inlay Earrings :
Drop earrings in matte-finish Sterling Silver and Enamel. These are lovely and light weight, with a swingy movement when worn.
Based on abstractions from the Scottish East Coast, the graphic blue-black enamelled pattern is unique, even between each earring in the pair; no two are the same.
-
Enamel Inlay Ring :
Matte-finish sterling silver ring carved and inlaid with enamel, to create unique graphic pattern. The interior of the ring is highly polished for comfort.
-
Silver Curl Earrings :
Tactile stud earrings, heat treated to create a paper-like white patina, with shiny burnished edges that catch the light.
They are subtly asymmetrical, creating a curl of silver that is slightly different each time.
-
Enamel Tube Necklace :
Statement necklace formed of subtly textured silver curls. These have been enamelled on the interior to create a hidden contrast of colour and texture.Joined with laser-welded stainless steel links.
-
Gilding Metal Inlay Brooch :
Hollow-form sterling silver brooch, inlaid with gilding metal and patinated to create a unique graphic pattern. The ends of the tube are set with onyx cabochons as a hidden detail.
-
Silver Inlay Earrings :
Hollow form earrings of gilding metal, which are inlaid with silver and patinated to create a graphic pattern, unique to each pair. (All findings are sterling silver).
-
Dangly Chain Studs :
Highly polished earrings that have a beautiful swingy motion when worn.
Every link in the chain – based on my own abstract drawings of the Scottish Coast – is different, so each earring, even within a pair, is unique.
